What are some good places to travel that are near Las Vegas?
I love to travel. I also love nature and animals. What would be some good places for me to travel that are no more than a 7 hour drive from Las Vegas.

When I was in Las Vegas, I wanted to take one of the short flights over to the Grand Canyon, but I ran out of time. drats !

Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge Beaver Dam State Park Big Bend Of The Colorado State Recreation Area Bryce Canyon National Park Cathedral Gorge State Park Death Valley National Monument Echo Canyon State Park Grand Canyon National Park (is a little far from Vegas, but still under 7 hours)

I have lived in Las Vegas for 14 years and I love nature too! I would definatly recommend visiting Red Rock Canyon, which is about 30 minutes out of Las Vegas. It is a national park where you can usually see burros, sometimes mountain goats, and I have seen wild mustangs there. We have the Valley of Fire close by but it is really hot this time of year. (hence the name!) and not to much for the wildlife scene. I think that you would absolutely love Bryce Canyon, it is beautiful and there is an abundance of wildlife up there. It is also a lot cooler than here around Las Vegas. A 7 hour drive can lead you to San Diego which is about 5 hours away where you can whale watch, or even visit the San Diego Zoo. San Diego also has great parks and beaches. There are many wonderful places to visit within a 7 hour radius. I would highly recommend the Grand Canyon if you have never been before. Summer months are busy (full of tourists) It is sometmes hard to find the canyone amongst the tourists!!! But if you can go in the spring or early fall before the snow hits or after it melts it is beautiful and serene.
